Easily one of the best Tower defence games there is (and theres a shameful lack of good tower defence games)If u like TD games this is simply a must have. Story/Presentation: 8Not much to say about this game's story, really. It's really just about a girl who defends a major core built from her allies from aliens invading. It's basic, but what I gotta give an above average score is it's presentation. First, the aliens. They look so cool! They're all very distinctive and unique in their own design and traits, and works perfectly with the game's tone. The soundtrack of the game's Really lovely and engaging as well. I loved and was happy buying it's soundtrack after trying out the game. Gameplay: 10This is the highlight of the game and what makes it SO good~! The game is one of the world's first First Person Shooter Tower of Defence. The design behind it and the strategy one has to make is perfect. The majority of the weapons are awesome, and it all plays good roles to strategize on how to defeat the aliens from reaching the core. Keep in mind that the game's Very hard, and takes a lot of practice to get it going, but still worth it. I feel like the combat was very balanced. With the constant reloads your own weapon has, it gives good opportunity for your towers to fight and cover for you.Overall: 9It's very obvious this game can't be for everyone, but it's still incredibly addicting. I am extremely happy I gave this game a try. It's super memorable, it's tons of fun, very challenging, and provides great replay value. It's a shame it's not that well played much since the release of it's sequel title, for I'd love to try out the Co-Op version of this at some point, but doesn't stop me from trying the game again in single player and play it more often. I would HIGHLY recommend this game for anybody.. Sanctum is a strange beast. It seems designed from the ground up for multiplayer. There's no plot or characters. Yet the multiplayer is all but abandoned. Though, in the past few weeks, I keep finding myself grinding waves on the single-player. It's fun. Stupid fun. It takes strategy. Planning. After that's all done, you get some real twitch-shooter fun. I was dissapointed that there wasn't any real content or story, but the mechanics are just great enough to keep me comming back for wave after wave. Sanctum will make you think, but not too hard. 7/10. Way better than the sequel. Can be reasonably completed single player. Lots of interesting weapons, maps, and enemies.. There are a number of recent negative reviews on this game, perhaps because more people are buying it when it came up for sale last time, and took a chance on a five dollar game. I picked it as well and also bought the DLC maps.Tastes in games are subjective, but for whatever reason this one really hit the spot for me. It's not going to be the best FPS or best puzzle game, but the first Sanctum has it's own niche and unique style, that it earns its place out there.Unlike Sanctum 2 the enemies don't fight back. You can get up and close and chase them, or occupy higher spots in strategic areas and get better hits. The waves that come out in lines on the ground, or flying above in the air, try to reach and diminish the core - if enough reach it, the level drops to zero and the match is over. The action can be intense but around the edges of it, there is a light heartedness, such as the free Christmas DLC map.Thought it's hard to find online matches, the gameplay is great as different people can bring different weapons and towers, to split up the workload and to create a successful map. I think if you buy this game and host some maps you'll find that there are other people out there who will hop on.. Epic Store sell outs.
